Accomplishments
Software Engineering Internship @ PRIDE Automation
-
PRIDE Automation
-
16969 N. Texas Ave #300, Webster, TX 77598
-
PRIDE Automation and their fantastic computer scientists and engineers taught me more than I ever expected. I got to experience the Agile workflow, pull request reviews, and communication standards of a high-functioning software company.
-
At PRIDE Automation, I developed a tool that can extract procedures & associated entries from one database server & import them into another. This tool will immensely aid clients with millions of procedure entries, billions of actionLog entries, etc. all on one server. With PIE tool (Procedure Importer & Extractor), they can move stale procedures to archival server, freeing up an active server that is more mobile & modifiable.
Geotechnical Engineering Internship @ ROCK
-
Rock Engineering and Testing Laboratory Inc. (RETL)
-
10856 Vandale St, San Antonio, TX 78216
-
At this geo-technical engineering I firm worked as a full-time employee. I not only gained knowledge concerning Texas' geological trends, tests run on soil, concrete, and limestone, and technical writing; but also, experienced a hard working individual's lifestyle - outside nearly everyday in the South Texas summer heat.
-
Additionally my second summer, I created a Unix program to retrieve GPS coordinates or addresses from each job site from the past three years and write them to a text file so its easier to input the jobs in Google Earth (code on my Github). I also connected the Testmark concrete compression machine to the remote desktop so data can go directly into QESTlab.
